Videos2More like thisThe best way for me to describe the tremendous impact this game had on me isthrough anecdotal details from my experience playing it through for the first time: Back in 2000, when this game was released, I didn't have the means to run it at home, and so I "borrowed" my parent's Mac. I basically moved back in at thetime, just for this. Those days, I was in a particularly busy time at work, and yet I would think of nothing else but DX all day, until I finally got "home", and eagerly loaded this masterpiece for another night of completely immersefantasy. I completed the "game", on Realistic mode, in just under three weeks, with nightly sessions ending - typically - at 5:30 AM, leaving me just enough time to sleep two hours in preparation for work the next day. By the end of that three-week period, I was so completely and utterly exhausted, I actuallybelieved I was going to have a cardiac episode driving to work - at the age of 26! I didn't regret the idea for a second. Well, my folks had their computer set up on a makeshift table with a plywoodsurface, the edge of which was rather sharp, and so uncomfortable for theundersides of your wrists, should you leave them resting there for too longwithout a break. One night, so immersed was I in my experience, that this edge had actually managed to break the skin on my mouse-hand wrist, drawingblood, and I didn't notice until I went to bed.Enough said. This game succeeds in accomplishing all the goals which should be part and parcel of the basic mission of entertainment, and the manifesto ofgaming in particular. No matter how great other games may have been, before and since, no otherexperience to date has held a candle to this. It's only too bad you can never go home again.now_here_manMay 26, 2004PermalinkContribute to this pageSuggest an edit or add missing contentEdit page An elusive stray cat who had been roaming the streets for quite some time, finally accepted help when someone offered her a dumpling.Coastal Bend Cat RescueA few weeks ago, a stray cat was spotted wandering a local shopping center. Several TNR (trap-neuter-return) rescuers responded and set out humane traps in the area but only to find that the savvy and elusive feline evaded them all. She was later seen crossing the highway to go back and forth between several restaurants looking for scraps of food. A Good Samaritan who had seen her picture on social media, eventually found her and was able to coax her into a cat carrier with a dumpling. The tabby was too hungry to resist the food and finally accepted help. Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, a local rescue in Corpus Christi, Texas, took her into their care, but little did they know she didn't come alone.Coastal Bend Cat Rescue"Within 48 hours, Dumpling (as she was soon named) decided to surprise us by popping out some baby dumplings. She was such a young and petite cat herself, weighing only six pounds," Lindsay Haglund, Foster Coordinator of Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, told Love Meow."It was very clear that it was her first pregnancy as a very young mother. She went into labor and had five little babies (four eventually survived) on top of a comfy queen sized bed in her foster home."The cat mom was so exhausted that she needed help with the delivery and to clean the babies.Coastal Bend Cat Rescue"Dumpling's foster family saved the lives of her kittens, and probably even Mama Dumpling herself that day," Lindsay said.A few weeks later, they were faced with yet another challenge when Mama Dumpling started having trouble nursing her kittens. Motifs are recurring structures, contrasts, or literary devices that can help to develop and inform the text’s major themes. Butterflies Images of and references to butterflies and lepidopterology, the study of butterflies and moths, appear throughout the novel, emphasizing not only the physical similarities between the fragile insect and young Lolita but also the distant and clinical way in which Humbert views his lovely prey. He effectively studies, captures, and pins them down, destroying the very delicate, living quality he so adores. Virtually every time Humbert describes a nymphet, he uses such terms as frail, fragile, supple, silky, or fairy-like, all of which could just as easily describe butterflies. Like butterflies, nymphets are elusive, becoming ordinary teenagers in the blink of an eye. Lolita, in particular, undergoes a significant metamorphosis, changing from innocent girl-child to exhausted wife and mother-to-be. Next to such delicate and mercurial creatures, Humbert becomes aware of his own monstrosity, often referring to himself as a lumbering brute. Doubles Quilty is Humbert’s double in the novel and represents Humbert’s darker side. Humbert is evil in many ways, but Quilty is more evil, and his presence suggests that the line between good and evil is blurred rather than distinct. Humbert and Quilty seem near opposites for much of the novel. Humbert adores and worships Lolita, while Quilty uses and ultimately abandons her. Humbert presents his own feelings for Lolita as tender and Quilty’s as depraved. However, the men are more similar than different. Both are educated and literary. Both, of course, are pedophiles. Humbert sees himself as the force of good, avenging Lolita’s corruption, yet he himself originally robbed Lolita of her innocence. By the end of the novel, Humbert and Quilty become even more closely identified with one another. When Humbert and Lolita play tennis one day,. Remember Yet Another Exhausted Day?! Materials, and however rare its architecture, as to which, sooner or later, you will not feel that you have seen enough of it. But God’s wonderful works never pall upon you. You could gaze upon Mont Blanc, or you could stand and watch Niagara Falls, yet never feel that you had exhausted all its marvels. And everyone knows how the ocean is never twice alike. They who live close to it and look upon it every hour of the day, still see God’s wonders in the deep! That God should bless us every day is a theme for our comfort. God’s ordinary ways charm us. The verse before our text says, “‘I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God.’ I know You will, for the blessing that I am about to ask from You is a thing that I have been accustomed to receive from You. I know You will hear me, for You have heard me in the past; it is a habit of Yours to listen to my supplications, and to grant my requests.” I hope we can argue in a similar fashion, yet, at the same time, God’s people draw equal comfort from the extraordinary character of the mercies He bestows upon them. They appeal to Him to show them His “marvelous loving kindness,” to let them see the wonderful side of it as well as the common side of it. To let them behold His miracles of mercy, His extravagances of love, His superfluities of kindness–I scarcely know what words to use when talking of what the Apostle Paul calls “the riches of His Grace, wherein He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence,” “the exceeding riches of His Grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”I want, on this But he knows you.It feels twisted – you trying to hurt Kiko just because she hurt you by opening her mouth about something she obviously shouldn’t have the right to do. He gets that, he still gets annoyed and just genuinely exhausted when he thinks about it. It hurts him because this is what he was so scared of.He’s already standing between you two and he just can’t do nothing, letting you hurt each other. Intentionally or unintentionally. He can’t blame you for your reaction, he knew from the moment you appeared downstairs that you’ve a certain facade going on. But you trying to hurt Kiko, even though he understands that you’re mad at her, by bringing up your deal just makes him feel betrayed. It’s clear it would do no good and just hurt more feelings, not saying you’d probably feel embarrassed the next day after you’d realize you so openly talked about you and him in front of everyone. He’s not stupid, everyone probably knows you hooked up. But still, bringing everyone into it would never end well and would just end up in a huge disaster of embarrassment. So fucking exhausted, Jungkook thinks and sighs as he tooks another swing of his tequila. He has long forgo a beer, knowing he needs something stronger to ease his nerves and the exhaustion of this trip.“So, what was that upstairs?”He doesn’t flinch but is surprised to see Jimin, stopping beside him and giving him a glance that he can’t quite identify what it means. But something tells him Jimin thinks about it more than it is in reality.“What exactly?” Jungkook mutters, forcing himself to look away from his friend and his almost judging eyes. Now that he thinks about it, he does feel a little uncomfortable by that. Especially because heYet Another Exhausted Day - Kotaku
Weight lost was lean muscle. Because this slows down your metabolism, burns fewer calories, and restores the energy balance. On average, the participants’ metabolic rate dropped by 9%. That may not sound like much, but it’s enough to slow or stop weight loss.Real-World ExampleLet’s say you normally eat 2,000 calories per day to maintain your weight. To lose weight, you follow the common advice of cutting 500 calories per day.At first, your weight drops. But after several weeks the weight loss stops. Frustrated, you cut another 500 calories. Then the weight loss continues until you hit another plateau.Figure 1. Visual representation of metabolism adapting to calorie restriction (exaggerated for demonstration purposes). After 2 or 3 months of this game, you’re exhausted and hungry all the time – there’s no way you can cut more calories. So you give up and go back to eating 2,000 calories per day.Unfortunately, your metabolism is shot. Which means you gain back all the weight – sometimes more than you lost.If this sounds familiar, you’re ready to learn about metabolic confusion. What Is Metabolic Confusion? While there are many interpretations of metabolic confusion, the premise is the same. Basically, you mix up your calorie intake to prevent the metabolic crash that comes with calorie restriction. But let’s get one thing clear, you’re not confusing your body. Nor should you have the mindset of trying “pull a fast one” or “cheat the system”. Instead, I prefer this definition:Metabolic confusion is a nutrition plan that works with your body’s systems to optimize weight loss. Think of it as giving your body what it needs to maintain your metabolism. One approach is called alternate-day fasting. A sort of feast/famine routine where you eat a very little one day, then a lot the next. But, studies haven’t shown this to be an effective strategy2.A betterYET ANOTHER EXHAUSTED DAY - YouTube
They sold me garbage so I returned said garbage, not only did they not credit my account for the return but they screwed up my account so bad I can't decipher wtf they did...I still had a small prior balance on the account and was making 2-3 payments over the minimum amount each billing period, yet my account stayed in PAST DUE status? Calling does zero good as they will claim they can't understand you if you have a situation they can't or don't want to handle, & that would be ALL situations. If you don't speak what they speak you're effectively f&%ked. I got fed up wasting my time and getting no solutions so I explained one last time that they would not get a single thin red GD cent from me unless or until they fixed their mess, and I immediately stopped paying. At least 20-30 times a day, all hours of the day and night, these psychos are blowing up my phone, because that's legal? Obviously, that wasn't going to continue so I filed a complaint with TransUnion directly.A few days later I received confirmation that they (Gettington) had taken care of all the mistakes they made and corrected the account, except for the fact that they lied, they didn't take care of a MFing thing because they're shady AF.I immediately re-filed my complaint with TransUnion, then I filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, & CFPB just to be sure. I'm exhausted just writing this, no doubt it's exhausting to read, but not as exhausting as crap "service" from them.... Remember Yet Another Exhausted Day?! For customer-experience leaders and down 33.9 percent for customer-experience laggards. Another study showed that experience leaders outstripped the S&P 500 by a full 26 percent. Yet, as Forrester analysts said, “marketing remains stuck in messaging mode.” PUNISHMENT ↬ PROTECTION By the time you read this chapter, discount airline Ryanair will be doing one of two things: 1) improving its treatment of customers, or 2) losing market share to more enlightened competitors. In a 2015 survey, brand firm Siegel+Gale named Ryanair the world’s second worst brand after insurance company AXA. This is actually an improvement over other studies, which put the company at the very bottom. “If we’re the worst-performing brand in the world,” said Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary, “why are we the biggest international airline in the world?” Short answer: The biggest company and the best brand are two different things. Time will tell. A bad brand is usually a leading indicator of a company headed for trouble. Let’s say you want to book a flight from London to Rome. You go to the Ryanair website and choose a round-trip flight. Pretty cheap, even with the modest credit card fee. You click “continue.” You add baggage fees of $140. The seats on Ryanair don’t recline. There’s not enough legroom to be comfortable, so you reserve a seat with slightly more space for $15. You see that you’re now up to twice the original investment. What you don’t see is that, if your bags are overweight when you get to the airport, you’ll pay an additional $11 per pound on the spot. And if you’ve forgotten to print your boarding pass at home, you’ll owe another $100 in penalties. These are only the financial costs. When you board the plane, exhausted from your ordeal at the airport, peace and quiet areComments
