Good Cloning programs.... I am currently using Acronis, but I always have to run other programs to clean up the messes..Like HDAT2 and Partion Majic. January 28th, 2009, 7:12 CopyR HDDuP works great but I wish it would mark CRC read sectors like DE does with a dark green color. Using the color red for CRC and not read sectors is a major bummer. It seems like an easy fix. When using it I miss the scrolling sector display and live statistics like that on DE. A scrolling display would be ideal. For those reasons we are forced to only use it on good drives for high speed copies. March 24th, 2009, 14:39 alw75 wrote:I Like to know more about the good Cloning programs.... You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. I have Windows XP Pro installed via Boot Camp. When I run my favorite radar application GR Level 3 when booted directly into XP, it works flawlessly. When I load the BC partion via Parallels however, GR won't display the radar. I know the radar image is smoothed with 3D support of some kind. I thought Parallels 3, having 3D support, would be able to handle this.I know this an obscure program, but I'd appreciate if anyone has anything to try. Probably not going to work. Parallels DirectX support isn't complete, and it does not support DirectX 9 yet. To quote from the GR Level 3 website:GRLevel3 uses your graphics hardware more than most applications. It accesses the hardware through DirectX 9. Ah, DX9, forgot Parallels didn't support that yet. Thanks for the heads-up. Share This Page

Not only my drive C but also adjacent to it small 200MB system partition of MR. Is this a good thing to do to also backup this MR's small system partition? A possible scenario: at some time, MR could make some changes into this partition and rely on them during its next restores. But if I in the meantime restore HBS's System Backup made much earlier, such MR's partition could be overwritten and returned to its state that does not correspond with MR's latest and expected setting. But is it OK in HBS to bypass this MR's partition and just backup the partition with drive C? Has anybody tested this? My inclination is not to make backup of this partion, hence not to use the offered HBS's System Backup, but rather go for Partition C backup only. But wouldn't HBS overwrite the MR's small system partion on such HBS's backup restore?Opinions? That IS NOT an MR partition. Thanks for sorting this out for me.In my Win 11 Pro, at least, I also have a third small partition on my drive C of 626MB, which should be system repair/restore tools etc. This partition was created during Windows installation. Is it a good idea to also include it with the HBS System Backup, or not? It is not selected by default. To rename the ext drive as "M:" same as the internal storage partion) Posted Wed 27 Feb 13 @ 2:12 pm DjSlamminPRO InfinityMember since 2010 A few reasons here for why I think an External is the way to go;1. An external HD is mobile & can be taken anywhere for when you have a gig on a system other than your own.2. And the more time it works the more heat it produces. We as dj's don't want to power down our disks (use power saving / speed down our HDD's) because this produces lags when we load tracks or suddenly try to browse a large folder. I'm pretty sure that we don't want this heat to stay inside our laptops especially when most club booths can get really hot and the air ventilation of our equipment is usually poor in such places. Heat can cause several "unwanted" side-effects. Heat can even cause sound issues on some occasions.Besides the heat, an external drive is portable and more easy to manage.
