It turns out that I'm using Instacast, which is not being supported any longer. This means that it was probably not updated to reflect any changes implemented in iOS9. The whole play pause issue is probably caused by iOS8 apps running in an iOS9 environment.Stitcher works and the iOS podcasts app works so you are good there.The short answer is, try a new app. Play/Pause starts playing music instead of pausing podcast
