JAYCOMMAND/TravelLINK by BMPRO - Apps on
Owners are getting a new battery-less tablet. Maybe those will be the norm in another year or two. Called BMPro and they replaced my bad tablet with the battery-less one for free. No more issues. How much trouble is to replace the battery? Any soldering required? We visited two phone/tablet repair shops and they said a replacement battery was not available.Greatly appreciate this post and everyone's feedback. The battery on the link provided was too large I had my 5ver at the dealership for about 45 days waiting on parts...any way when I got it home the screen was blank and I thought here we go again the battery has taken a dump(been replaced under warranty once).I used the "1" light button to turn the lights on, then used the arrow buttons to toggle to "OF" then hit the "EXT" button and this woke the tablet up. I have the sleep mode disabled but apparently it still went to sleep on me. @#29 I too had mine at the dealership for the last 45 plus days and the BMPro wall tablet was also one of the things fixed. Old one would just be on all the time or disconnected but screen still on. New one was blank, poked the screen a couple times, nothing, navigate to OF hit extend and there it was. One of my complaints was no off feature on the old one so that's different. Tech told me there wasn't an off feature so kinda shows what he knows. I sent an email to JayCommand long ago asking about it and they said there were some made during COVID that didn't have that feature. Pot luck in 2022 I guess. @#29 I too had mine at the dealership for the last 45 plus days and the BMPro wall tablet was also one of the things fixed. My first one had the buttons as does the new one it just didn't have to off If we purchase from TeamBMPro does the unit need to be programed for our particular RV? Do you have the Jaycommand system on yours? I understand what you re saying but I have never had the phone App not work on Bluetooth which is what we use 100% of the time when setting up/tearing down. It is my wife's favorite toy raising/lowering the camper on the hitch. I could lose my hand if I volunteered to do that and her back the truck. We are on our second tablet so I know what you mean. The cloud function means more to us as we have two toy poodles we sometimes leave when going out to eat or need a break from them. I can monitor and adjust temps inside the camper/insure we haven't lost power which has happened before. And all that can be moot if the WIFI signal is lost so it is never 100% reliable. FWIW, in general, tech is inherently unreliable which is the reason for several readily available options Do you have the Jaycommand system on yours? Yes we do... dead battery and not sure my soldering skills are up to changing out the battery. Yes we do... dead battery and not sure my soldering skills are up to changing out the battery. In that case, the replacement unit from BMPRO will slide right in, no programming required. I am on our second tablet and it installed with no issues Over the years you'll be owning this, eventually you'll find the battery will no longer take a charge. No worries there, just take it off the wall and pry the case open and replace the battery. The tablet battery has two wires coming from it and the replacement battery has two wires. You could simply strip their covering and wrap them together. Then wrap in electrical tape. Soldering it before you wrap in tape is recommended but not required. Whole process is pretty qucik once you get the tablet appart. No when we go to unhitch I lower the front jack and move the truck. The auto level system doesn’t work. The front jacks lower almost to the ground but the rear and side jacks do not come down. They stay up. I try to manually lower the side and rear jacks but they do not lower. We manually level Rv with boards and front jacks. Based on your comment: If I try to manually lower rear and side I just get a hum in the front and nothing happens.Sounds like the pump is trying to actuate the rear jacks (=pressure) but the pressure isn't getting to the jacks. Perhaps something going on with the valving? Check all electrical connections at the pump/valve assembly. I don’t know a lot about these systems but some of these issues sound more like air or lack of fluid problems. If things are actuating then electrical should be good. If wired backwards then it should try to go up when downs pushed. Again I don’t know these specific systems but other hydraulic systems I’ve worked on before this is stuff I’ve found. I called EQ and they were very helpful. They had me reset the orientation & the null. After that everything worked. This had been done before at our dealer and it worked fine at the dealer, but when we got home it was doing the same as before. EQ told me to disconnect the BMPRO two prong plug from the back of the controller in the cargo and there should be no more problems. He said for some reason the BMPRO is not working with the EQ system correctly. He said others have had similar problems and when the BMPRO is disconnected there have not been anymore issues. Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks for all the suggestions. Great, glad you got it fixed. I called EQ and they were very helpful. They had me reset the orientation & the null. Function. Using the paper clip would bring up restart or turn off but they both had the same result, restart. Losing connection with the node all the time and the known battery issue were the reasons I wanted it replaced. Time will tell if the connection issue is cured. Don't get me wrong I like the touch screen but they've had a lot of problems with it. So many in fact that my dealer has been ordering Eagles with that feature deleted. Yes sir, "OF" was not one of the choices and why I emailed JayCommand a few weeks after I bought the camper. They said some of the tablets didn't have that feature and pointed me to the paperclip route which wouldn't shut it down either.Jaycommand powered by BMpro - Facebook
