Description, I like it! Anyway I had already done this image before you posted your script and I haven't tried the script yet. I used YAFU's way of doing it but I made the selection 100px smaller than the picture and centered it and inverted it. I also blurred by 10 instead of 5. That might be a possibility for your script. In the xach effect, if the selection was 100px smaller than the picture, the X & Y offsets could be 50 ... maybe.I'll give your script a try. This is a picture of Bandon Beach that is not far from me. Again, it's from stockxchng. _________________World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones. - Albert Einstein Top Rod Post subject: Re: KDE4/Aero Blur Effect. A base image. Rounded rectangular selection close the outer edge of the base image. Invert that selection. A new small rectangular selection for the title, holding down the Shift key to keep the other selection. Gaussian blur applied on the two selections. I add a new transparent layer keeping the previous selection.I apply on the transparent layer Xach-Effect with white Highlight. Reduce the opacity of the layer called "Highlight"I think that adding a noise/grain to the blur can be even better. _________________Be patient, English is not my language. I like the idea of blurring outside of the layermask selection and centering the the effect. _________________World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones. - Albert Einstein Top paynekj Post subject: Re: KDE4/Aero Blur Effect. I think this would be a sweet way of being able to put a caption on an image when attention needs to be drawn subtly to the wording without being taken away from the image.Perhaps you could get one of the moderators to move this and then edit this thread just a tad to ask! Although .. the music in the video was starting to make my ears and eyes bleed!
