SUMMARYHow to configure MailEnable to monitor or capture e-mails and archive them to a specific mailbox or SMTP address.DETAILFor security and legislative reasons in some countries and workplace, it is necessary to archive all messages that are sent and received by mail servers. MailEnable Professional Edition and Enterprise Editions can define filters and actions that are executed as messages pass through the mail system. As such, it is possible to create a global message content filter that actions on all messages that are processed by the MailEnable MTA agent and forwards them to a specified mailbox.Archiving sent/received messages (MailEnable Standard): Download the following utility "MESNOOP" from the following link: Follow the readme.txt file within the .zip file for instructions on how to setup the MTA pickup event to archive mail to a specific mailbox.Archiving received messages (MailEnable Professional and Enterprise):The Professional and Enterprise versions allow you archive all inbound email into a archive mailbox based on the date. This is configured in the administration program, by expanding the Servers->localhost->Services and Connectors branch, right clicking on the MTA icon and selecting Properties from the popup menu. Clicking the Archiving tab allows you to enable this feature.Archiving sent/received messages (MailEnable Professional and Enterprise): Navigate within the MailEnable administration console to the following location: Messaging Manager->Filters and right click on "Filters" and select "New->New Filter" from the popup menu. Name the filter "Archive all messages". Once created the filter double click on the filter (in the right hand side pane) to open the criteria window. In the criteria list locate "All messages - Process filter actions for all messages" and double click the criteria to access the properties window. Tick the "Enabled" tickbox and then "OK". The problem:1. Install ME Enterprise Premium 5.x to a server2. Install Outlook 2010 on a Windows 7 machine. And, Install ME Outlook Connector.3. Create email account on server; set up new account on Outlook selecting the "MailEnable Server" from "Other" service. Use credentials used to create email account (earlier in this step).4. If not already, open Outlook, and leave it open.5. Have many emails sent to this new email account (from many different sources, and servers) throughout the day.6. At the end of the day (or after some time), Open a web browser-- connect to Webmail, and log in using the new email account from step 3, above. Scroll through and you'll see the occasional emails Outlook never fetched from the server.7. That's it.(It takes shutting down Outlook and reopening, to fetch the missed emails)Greg scngan Posts: 446 Joined: Fri Dec 30, 2005 1:27 pm Re: [UPDATE] Outlook connector not downloading new emails Post by scngan » Sat Jul 02, 2011 2:52 am im experience this same problem using MAPI 1.36 (x64), outlook2010Additional Information:Most of the time, after you login to webmail or mobile phone to read the mail, then only the connector will able to pickup the mail and download it. gregorio Posts: 28 Joined: Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:53 am Re: [UPDATE] Outlook connector not downloading new emails Post by gregorio » Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:25 pm scngan,Some of us are waiting around for the next release of Enterprise Premium-- 5.12. It is supposed to have various fixes for MAPI (including issues with downloading new emails). I'm hoping this release will solve this issue once and for all.Greg MadCyberRunner Posts: 43 Joined: Thu Oct 07, 2010 11:46 am Re: [UPDATE] Outlook connector not downloading new emails Post by MadCyberRunner » Mon Jul 11, 2011 7:46 am Any Idea when Mailenable 5.12 and Connector 1.38 or higher are released? I've lost customers on these issues, and all the installations I've made are now going to be MAPI only and not with the connector. I've raised a Support Ticket and giving access to our mailserver, but the issues are still there. Please give us an update and tell us that this is a known issue you are working on. Adam Posts: 1 Joined: Thu Sep 21, 2006 2:47 pm attachment symbol Hi my friends,I got a problem and I need an hand.Somedays ago I bought MailEnable Professional Edition Version 2.0, and after the installation almost everything was ok.Infact, when I use MailEnable Professional Edition to send email, the addressee visualize the attachment symbol but no attachment is present in the email. By the way, it happens only when I use a webmail: i made several test using different webmail (Yahoo, Libero, and so on). I'm still asking myself what's the cause of this strange problem but I don't understand it. I think I heard somewhere that some webmail cannot read the whole MailEnable script, but can't say nomore. Is there anybody here can confirm and tell-me something else? How can I solve this unpleasant error? Is it my fault? Can I provide by myself? If ther's a way, of course. Thanks in advance. It has been done this way to improve performance. Reason being is that Professional and Enterprise both look at the content type of a message and do not read the entire file to see what the attachment is. So depending on what content type is given to a message it is possible that the message may result in displaying an attachment icon. There is no current workaround for this.regardsIan MargaroneMailEnable Support.

Have the two test servers, (a 2000 server with exchange on it, and a later 64-bit server for Mail Enable). The exchange one has a number of users, ("User1", "User2", etc.), with email accounts, (e.g. "User1@domain"). Whilst Mail Enable has been installed with a post-office of the same name.We then set up Mail Enable to migrate with the "capture and create" option, but when we log into Mail Enable as the "User1" account with the same password, it simply shows the "authentication failed" message. We've tried it with and without mailboxes, but neither seemed to work. Also note that no "Migrate" or "Capture" folders are created under "Mail Enable\Config", so it appears that nothing is happening at all.Do we need to create either a domain and/or a mailbox for the user in Mail Enable first, before this will migrate? Or does something else need to be set-up in Mail Enable for this to work?Is there a way to verify that Mail Enable can communicate with the exchange server? In case this is the issue. Also, does it matter that these are virtual machines running the trial version? If this trial works, then we're intending to purchase the full enterprise edition to perform the actual migration process.Paul MailEnable-Ben Posts: 5858 Joined: Fri Jan 16, 2004 6:49 am Location: Melbourne Re: Migrating from Exchange 2000 to MailEnable Post by MailEnable-Ben » Thu Feb 24, 2011 11:14 pm Some things to test:1.
